Colt 1849 Pocket Pistol, CAL: 31, MFG 1873 (Last Year Production), SN: 332037, Single Action Percussion Revolver, 4'' barrel. The top barrel flat is marked ''ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA'', left side of frame is marked ''COLTS PATENT'' in two lines & the left side of the trigger guard is marked with the caliber. The stagecoach holdup scene on the cylinder is visible, with some areas worn thin. All matching SN on the frame, trigger guard, barrel, but & partial matching SN on the cylinder. The original wood grips are excellent. There are minor contusions & scrapes, with protective oils over time, contributing to areas of darkening. The original finish is excellent, with small areas of flaking around the bottom edges. The original metal blue finish on the barrel rates 10-20%, with most remains in heavily protected areas, & the majority has worn to metal gray, toning to a brown patina. The case-hardned frame has full worn to metal gray & toned to a brown patina. There is consistent speckling & light pitting throughout. The brass trigger guard has a nice aged patina, with some chatter marks on the butt. Small brass cone front sight. A nice example of an all original Colt 1849 Pocket. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 700 to 1200
