Description

Phenix Armory (William Marston), 6-Shot Pepperbox, CAL: 32, MFG: circa 1850's-60's, SN: 767 (frame), Double Action, 3 1/2'' barrel cluster. After 1851, such firms as Manhattan Firearms Manufacturing Co. & William Marston offered double action pepperboxes which were virtually identical to those by Ethan Allen. Marston marketed some under such trade names as Washington Arms Co., Union Arms, & Phenix Armory, which this example is. The original wood grips are excellent, having been repaired, sanded & refinished. The original metal finish has fully worn to gun metal gray, with intermittent light spotting & areas toned to a thin brown patina. Bores are poor, dark & rough. No sights. Issues with mechanical functionality. Trigger doesn't catch the hammer when pulled & barrel does not rotate when trigger is pulled. Nipple condition is good, all nipples in tact, with some pitting around the base. All matching parts number (36) on the trigger, inside frame & most internal parts. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 300 to 600
