Case Willard N Co., Underhammer Boot Pistol, CAL: 36, MFG: circa 1840, SN: N/A, Percussion Single Shot Pistol, 3 1/2'' half octagon half round barrel. The left flat is clearly marked ''CAST-STEEL / PATENT'' & the upper tang marked with ''CASE WILLARD N CO / NEW-HARTFORD-CONN''. The original wood grip is good. There is an old break at the bend. The break was repaired by two inlaid brass strips. There are some areas with filler, & other minor contusions, scrapes/dings, under an added layer of varnish. The top of the frame has simple decorative engravings. The metal finish has fully worn to metal gray & toned to a brown patina. Bore is poor, dark & pitted. Fixed notch rear sight & small silver blade front sight. Nipple is intact & mechanical functions appear to operate properly. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 500 to 800
