Description

Japanese Ko-Wakizashi, blade is unsigned, Edo period 1750 era made blade, older full polish, no defects, no delamination's & in excellent condition. Blade measures 15 1/2'' cutting edge, 1 1/16'' width, 5.5 mm thickness at the mune notch an 22 3/4'' overall in mountings, beautiful grain & highly visible wavy temper pattern throughout blade with deep temper at the point. The scabbard is lacquered and in very good condition. Tsuka is tight fit. With gold overlay flower motif shakudo fuchi/kashira. Menuki both matching crane motif. Handle is tight tsukaito wrapping, Tsuba is very nice iron engraved gold wash bamboo motif & nice patina. Habaki gold wash & has family mon engraved. - Value: 3000 to 6000
