Marlin, Model 1893 SRC, marked .30-30 Cal., MFG. 1902, SN: 240858, Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine, 20'' round barrel, Full mag., Original wood is very good & solid after having been lightly sanded leaving wood still proud to metal in most areas. Few handling marks remain after the refinish & a heavy coat of non-professional finish added. Sliver of wood missing at bottom tang & some dark staining at buttplate. Lacquer finish spills over onto all adjacent metal parts. Metal is a combination of original blue & splotchy applied cold blue over areas of wear & heavy pitting in numerous areas. Some original case-color remains on the case-hardened receiver, hammer & lever. Elevator slide missing from rear folding elevator sight, front carbine sight, some buggered screws. Tight action. Bore is very good with strong rifling. Comes with a well worn vintage leather scabbard. This example is one of the first models which were made from 1893-1915. Would be a fun carbine to shoot in a inexpensive caliber to buy. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 200 to 600
