Description

RARE Winchester Model 1885 TAKE-DOWN SHOTGUN, 20ga., Full Choke, MFG. 1913, SN: 114310, Lever Action Single Shot Shotgun, 26'' Round barrel, This is a special ordered & seldom encountered Winchester Model 1885 High Wall Shotgun. It features a no rib Winchester marked barrel, with brass front bead sight. Barrel stamped with ''20 GA.'' & ''CYL'' markings. The serial number is marked on the lower tang & ''PAT. OCT. 7th 79 / --WINCHESTER -- / --TRADE MARK--'' is marked on the upper tang. The barrel is mostly silver with thin remains of the original blue & some rust speckling. The case-hardened receiver is mostly toned gray with a thin layer of plum/brown patina. Mounted with a smooth Schnabel forearm with ebony insert & straight grip stock, which are both very good. The stock has some minor chipping at the toe, Stocks have a layer of added finish over the original, with lots of small scratches, minor contusions & a couple of larger gouges. Checkered Winchester hard rubber buttplate. Bore is very good. These 1885 shotguns are fairly rare & collectible. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1000 to 2000
