Description

Winchester, Model 55, marked 25-35 WCF, MFG. 1931, SN: 1076787, Lever Action Rifle, 24'' Tapered round barrel, button 3 round mag, Rare solid frame version of model. The rifle was fully professionally restored. The walnut wood stocks are excellent with only a couple very minor scuffs or contusions, Metal finishes have been reblued with 98% coverage of a satin black finish on barrel & 98% coverage of high polish black/blue finish on all remaining metal parts, Receiver has been tapped for a receiver sight, holes have been filed with screws. Bore is very good+, with strong rifling, Standard rear & front sight, Of the approximate 20,500 model 55 rifles manufactured, the vast majority were produced as a take-down, with only a small percentage made in the much rarer solid frame. Of the rare solid frame rifles, even fewer were made in much rarer 25-35 caliber, making the configuration of this example sought after amongst collectors. Value: $2,000-3,500, but started at $1 with no reserve. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 2 to 3500
