Savage Model 1899 Take-down, CAL: 22 H.P., MFG: 1915, SN: 166370, Lever Action Rifle, 20'' SAVAGE HI-PRESSURE STEEL tapered round barrel. The replaced stock is excellent, with a darker hand oiled finish & almost no handling marks. There is two 1/2'' cracks at the toe & an open hole from a previous sling stud. The original forend is very good & solid, but does show numerous small dings & scrapes. The refinished flat metal gray finish on the receiver rates 90%, but with lots of rust pit speckling under the finish, especially on the left side of the receiver & lever. The barrel finish appears original retaining 90% coverage, but with lots of cleaned speckled pitting on the underside last 3'' at muzzle end. Bore rates good, with some roughness amongst proud rifling. The barrel holds an adjustable rear elevator & ramp/blade front sight. Buttstock carries a replaced plastic buttplate with bullseye logo. Missing back screw on upper tang. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 300 to 600
