Description

Marlin, Model 1936, 30-30 Cal., MFG. 1936-40, SN: 8189, Lever Action Rifle, 20'' Round barrel, Full mag., First year rifle. The original flat pistol grip wood stocks are good & solid. The stocks have been lightly sanded & non-professionally refinished. They carry numerous scuffs, scratches & small contusions. Carbine barrel band on forearm, where there is a short tight hairline crack at the tip. The metal blue finish on the barrel & mag is a combination of original blue & a hand applied cold blue giving it an uneven coverage. The case-hardened receiver & lever have the smokey outlines of case-colors, with faded colors remaining in protected areas. The stock carries a well worn, black, hard rubber, shotgun style buttplate. The barrel carries an adjustable rear sight & standard front sight. Bore is excellent. Action remains tight. SN matching on lower tang, side of upper tang & inside stamped on stock. They didn't make many of this model as only produced two years. This would be a good vintage Marlin hunting rifle. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
