Rare Johnsons Automatics Model 1941, Cal. 30-06, MFG 1940/41, SN: 1700, Semi auto rifle, 22'' barrel, 10 round rotary magazine. This rifle appears to be a Mitch restoration. The wood stocks are excellent, as-new condition. Metal carries a 99% parkerized finish. Original finish was blued. MilTech was known for excellent restorations. Early SN rifle with ''Cranston Arms Co'' in inverted triangle with 5 point star above triangle on rear right side of receiver. Adjustable rear sight graduated in meter increments. Top of receiver marked ''Cal. 30-06 Semi-Auto/Johnson Automatics/Model of 1941/Made in Providence, R.I., U.S.A./1700'', all markings are sharp & clear. The bolt hold-open functions well, which was sometimes a problem with this rifle. Checkered metal buttplate. Barrel is easily removed which was a plus for airborne Marine units. Excellent bore. Checkered metal buttplate. Sling swivels. Includes original bayonet marked 1969 on spring catch rivet, with ''A'' in circle & 2578 on leather scabbard in very good cond. Possibly Dutch stamps, as many of these rifles were exported to the Dutch. The bayonet was made to be very lightweight as the Johnson has a barrel that recoils when fired & a heavy bayonet would interfere with function. A rare & excellent overall example of a unique firearm. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 3000 to 7000
