Description

Winchester, Model 74, Marked .22 LONG RIFLE, MFG. 1947, SN: 148740, Semi-Auto Rifle, 22'' Tapered round barrel, Although some 400,000 plus model 74 rifles were produced, it is a rifle that is seldom encountered & little is know. Cartridges load through the buttstock once the mag follower is removed through the buttplate. The original American straight grain walnut stock is very good & appears to have been lightly finish sanded as finish has thinned. Factory metal blue finish is 70% overall. Bore is excellent. Fitted with the correct adj. rear sight & factory front sight. The unusual receiver mounted safety functions by sliding it side to side within a dovetail channel. A good looking & mostly original condition, semi-auto .22. FFL or C&R Req - Value: 200 to 400
