Description

Kimber, Model 82 Government, Star Grade, .22 LR Cal., MFG. 1987-89, SN: GM018452, Bolt Action Rifle, 25'' Bull round barrel, The US military has long used rimfire caliber rifles for basic marksmanship training. One of the best was the Kimber 82 (Government) series. Kimber of Oregon contracted 20,000 of these single-shot rifles for the US Army. This is a single shot .22 LR (only) heavy target rifle with an overall weight of 10.75 lbs., a length of 43 inches, an adjustable trigger, three buttplate spacers & a hand stop assembly. After test firing the most accurate examples where selected stamped with a ''*'' (star) above the serial number & sold commercially. This is NOT one of these specially selected Star grade rifles which proved most accurate. The US Army turned them over to the CMP Civilian Marksmanship Program for resale to the public. The wood stock is excellent, with only a couple of minor finish level blemishes. Metal finish is 99%, Tight mechanism, Sights blocks for front sight & scope, Carries a fully adjustable Kimber receiver mounted target sight. Bore is excellent. Wonderful high condition example. FFL Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
