Emil V. Nordheim Mettlis 1st Model ''Drilling Combo'', CAL: 16GA/9.3x72R, MFG: Antique, SN: 142 as found on underside of barrels, Side lever Break Action, Top tang barrel Select, Choke: F/F/ Rifled. 26 5/8'' barrels with solid matted rib. Like many European shotguns or drillings, this firearm looks like it has been restored several times after the hunting season. The original checkered, cheeked & capped pistol grip wood stocks are very good & solid but the stock has been lightly sanded & does not carry a matching finish to the forearm. The checkering on the stock is nearly worn away, with faint lines remaining. There are a few light surface scrapes, nicks & dings. The metal has been buffed, cleaned & prepared for reblue & thus the hand engraving & markings are shallow or partially missing. The current blue finish rates 75% overall with areas of loss near the carry points. The other metal components have light accent engraving & are a nickel finished. The nickel remains at 90%+, with areas of speckling & loss. Bores are good, with some roughness. 16GA barrels top barrels, bottom rifle is 9.3x72. Sling provisions. Double triggers. The rib holds a flip-up rear sight & blade front sight. The buttstock carries a serrated black buttplate. LOP: 13 1/2'', DAH: 2 1/2'', DAC: 1 3/8''. A quality, European hand crafted drilling combo. NO FFL Req. - Value: 1000 to 2000
