Colt Model 1878, Cal. .38 WCF, MFG: 1897, SN: 37392, Double Action Revolver. 7 1/2'' round barrel, Caliber mark on left side of barrel ahead of cylinder. Top of barrel marked on one line: ''COLT'S PT.F. A. MFG Co HARTFORD CT U.S.A.''. The serial number is stamped in two lines at the bottom of the bird's head grip. The loading gate is stamped with the assembly number ''124'' & the number ''529 '' & ''B'' is stamped on the left side of grip under grip panel. The rear face of the cylinder is stamped with the letter ''V'' & ''392'' last 3 digits of this pistol's SN. Original dark brown, hard rubber & checkered grips with Rampant Colt emblem on both sides are in very good condition with good checkering. Trigger and screws are fire blued. Metal is 20% finish in smooth grey/brown patina, with no pitting & no scratches/handling marks in general mild overall wear. Bore is shiny, good condition w/some pitting. Complete pistol with lanyard loop. Very nice overall condition collectable antique. No FFL Req. - Value: 1500 to 3000
