Description

Colt, Model 1911 Gold Cup National Match, .45 ACP Cal., Semi-Auto Pistol, Mfg. 1967, SN: 20620 NM, 4 3/4'' barrel, marked ''NATIONAL MATCH COLT Automatic Calibre .45'' on the left side of the slide, Original wood checkered grips are excellent, Factory metal blue finish is 99%, Bore is excellent bright & shinny, Pistol practically looks new & unfired, The earliest National Match Colts were made between 1933 & 1941. During World War II, the National Match Model was discontinued, but resumed in 1957. In 1957 Colt began to produce ''Gold Cup National Match'' pistols which they produced until 1970. Then came the ''Series 70 Gold Cup National Match'', produced between 1970 & 1983. Between 1983 & 1996, Colt produced the ''Gold Cup MKIV Series 80 National Match.'' The current marking of ''Gold Cup Trophy'' begun in 1997 to current. This pistol is one of the 60's Gold Cup models & part of a long line of quality Colt Match 1911 pistols.
