Description

SCARCE, Savage, Model 1907 French Military Contract, CAL: .32 Auto (7.65mm), MFG: 1910, SN: 153452, Semi Auto Pistol, 3 3/4'' barrel. The Savage logo checkered plastic grips are fair. There are multiple glue repaired cracks. The original metal blue finish rates 80% overall. Bore is very good, appears grainy. Groove & blade sights. Factory lanyard loop. This example was part of a French Army contract during World War I. The French contract pistols can be identified by serial range, which includes numbers 150,000-166,800 & also by the dual caliber markings, large Savage marking on left side of frame, lanyard loop & loaded chamber indicator. The French purchased 40,000 pistols, but appx 27,500 actually made it. A scarce example as not many made it back into the U.S. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 600 to 1000
